Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park is located in the eastern central part of California. The total area covered by the park is about 3,080 square kilometers. This park is not famous as just a great valley but also popular for its granite cliffs, spectacular waterfalls, crystal clear streams, glaciers and its diversified biological features. It is open throughout the year but only during the day time.

This park is suitable for all kinds of visitors as it has different special features according to the climatic conditions prevailing. It will be either hot or warm during summer and it rains occasionally. The waterfalls will only be trickling or almost be dried out during summer, as they are fed by the melting snow. Redbud, Lupine, Sierra Onion, and Mariposa Lily are some of the flowers that bloom during June. Subalpine flowers are seen later in the summer. Elephant’s heads, pentstemon, yarrow gentian, and shooting stars add beauty to the park in July.

During the fall the climate varies from either cold to hot or snowy to rainy to dry. The water level is seen to be very. Big-leaf Maples, Pacific Dogwoods, Black Oaks and a few deciduous trees remain evergreen and add color to the park during the fall. During the winter the climate will be cold and snowy. Cold days along with the sun are also experienced during the winter. Water levels are low until some snow fall or rain fall is seen, after which the snow melts and the flow in the water falls attract many people.

Spring is the best season for those who love to see water falls. The days are sunny and warm but occasionally winter storms are also seen. Snow melts and the water rushes through even small gaps between the rocks. Peak flow occurs in either May or June. The beauty of the park was damaged due to over grazing and other such reasons. This persuaded Muir to take actions and protect the park. He made arrangements to completely eliminate grazing with the help of local officials.

It’s Beautiful!!! Paradise Camping I say.
